Amherst Invite
The Amherst Invitational, the oldest high school tournament in the country, will be celebrating its 30th annual in 2023. Founded by Tiina Booth in 1992, it has grown into a 32-team tournament with 16 Gx teams and 16 Open teams. The Division I teams (8 Gx and 8 Open) traditionally feature some of the strongest high school teams in the country, while Division II is composed of developing teams and newer programs emerging from the northeast region. For all divisions, we give preference to teams with a demonstrated commitment to the growth of youth ultimate in their school, town, or region. The tournament is supported by a volunteer effort of over 150 parents and community members working with skilled local coaches who help to create a sports experience with an emphasis on an open and welcoming atmosphere, equality of opportunity for all participants, fair and respectful competition, excellent facilities and organization, great food and gear, and opportunities for building meaningful connections between participants.
